Community Outreach Associate

The O’Ferrall Group is looking for someone who is highly organized, outgoing and comfortable taking ownership of their work. You enjoy meeting people, can keep multiple projects moving and follow through on the details. You want the independence to get things done and the opportunity to make an impact.

As our Community Outreach Associate, you will support a volunteer committee by coordinating activities, building relationships and turning ideas into well-run programs and events. The committee focuses on education and workforce opportunities. We will train you on the programs and presentation content. You bring the organization, initiative and confidence to connect with people.

You should be comfortable introducing yourself to a business leader, coordinating a group of volunteers or presenting to middle school, high school and college students.

What you will do

• Keep committee activities moving by managing schedules, meeting materials, communications and follow-up.
• Coordinate outreach programs and events, handling logistics and making sure participants are prepared.
• Build relationships with business leaders, community partners, schools and colleges.
• Recruit and coordinate volunteers and presenters.
• Learn program content and deliver engaging presentations to students, business leaders and community groups.
• Track participation, maintain accurate records and collect feedback.
• Anticipate needs, solve problems and suggest ways to improve how we work.

Experience in event coordination, customer relations, community outreach, hospitality, sales support or association work could translate well to this position. We are especially interested in examples of how you have organized people and projects, built relationships and taken ownership of results.

Position details

• Location: Hanover, Maryland, with a hybrid work schedule.
• Employment: Full-time.
• Salary and benefits: $60,000 annually, plus healthcare and a SIMPLE IRA.
• Travel: Local travel primarily throughout Anne Arundel and Howard counties.
• Schedule: A couple of early morning or early evening commitments per month.
