Senior Software Engineering Manager - Fullstack (Finance)

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least 5 years of applied experience and at least 2 years leading technologists through complex technical challenges in your area of expertise.
• At least 10 years of experience building enterprise-grade software products.
• Expertise in Java, Spring Core, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and JPA, or in Python and a relevant microservices framework.
• Expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and popular UI testing frameworks.
• Proficiency in object-oriented design and test-driven development, with hands-on experience using automation frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Playwright, and Cucumber.
• Strong understanding of security standards such as OAuth, TLS, and Kerberos.
• Familiarity with logging, metrics, and monitoring technologies such as the ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, and Splunk.
• Proficiency with agentic AI coding assistants such as Copilot, Claude, Windsurf, or Gemini.
• Experience with event-driven processing using Kafka and other AMQP frameworks.
• Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines with Git, Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube, and Fortify.
• Demonstrated experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for activities such as coding, code review, testing, and troubleshooting, and setting team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Preferred: Experience with Agile software development in a product operating model.
• Preferred: Experience building enterprise data analytics solutions or working with finance reporting.
• Preferred: Experience building cloud-native web applications.
• Preferred: Exposure to NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.
• Preferred: Experience with LLM-based implementations.
• Preferred: Knowledge of domain-driven design, microservices patterns, and modern architectures.

• Provide direction, oversight, and coaching to entry-level and mid-level software engineers handling basic to moderately complex work.
• Make decisions affecting team resources, budgets, tactical operations, and the execution of processes and procedures.
• Establish and scale operating practices for approved AI-assisted engineering and SDLC/TLM automation across teams, improving delivery speed, quality, and operational outcomes while setting measurable expectations and ensuring validation, security, resiliency, and reuse of proven patterns.
• Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review and refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident analysis; establish validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
• Use Software Development Life Cycle toolchain capabilities, including approved AI-assisted development and automation, to improve efficiency and unlock capacity, prioritizing reuse of existing firm technology assets.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and suitability for existing systems and information architecture.
• Foster collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate issues affecting delivery of the teams work, escalating them when appropriate.
• Work with end users and product teams to align technical deliverables on time.
• Advise leadership on budgets, approaches, and technical considerations that can improve team efficiency and functionality.
• Lead Software Engineering communities of practice to increase awareness and adoption of new and emerging technologies.
