Giant Rabbit is a mission‑driven digital agency that has been providing web, data, and strategy services to organizations that make the world a better place since 2006. We’re looking for a versatile full‑stack developer. Our projects involve backend and frontend development tasks, usually using an existing open‑source CMS such as Drupal, Backdrop CMS, or WordPress. We build and support websites for a wide range of nonprofit organizations that protect immigrants’ rights, defend abortion rights, fight climate change, and work for social justice. Our work is mission‑focused: our goal is always to do what is best for our clients. That gives us constant fresh challenges, and we work collaboratively to plan, budget, design, and implement solutions. About You Can structure and develop a Drupal or Backdrop site from the ground up. Can debug tricky issues by diving deep into CMS code. Knows when and how to code a new module or plugin if needed. Is comfortable preparing a CMS administrative experience for end users. Has extensive experience with PHP, or at least two other backend languages. Builds to last; we maintain the sites we build, so they must be robust. Other helpful skills: Experience with migrations / rebuilds from one CMS to another. Can convert a design mock‑up into a responsive theme. Has worked to sync Drupal and/or WordPress data with other platforms, such as Salesforce. Has run own projects or managed own clients. Administrative and/or customization experience with Salesforce, CiviCRM, and/or other nonprofit CRMs and SASS platforms. Familiar with dev‑ops / system administration and can set up local development environments. We believe developers benefit from knowing all parts of the dev experience and are invested in training our developers to become effective across back‑end, front‑end, and dev‑ops. About Us We’re an eighteen‑person agency with a ten‑person development team. Everyone is encouraged to participate in discussions about our practices and projects. Because we work with nonprofits, budgets are limited, so it’s helpful to work creatively with existing platforms. We also practice sustainable development and maintain long‑term stability. We always have multiple projects running concurrently and field new client requests. The environment requires handling several sites at once with ample support. Work‑life balance We maintain a 40‑hour work week with no overtime. Parents juggling childcare schedules receive flexibility, and we keep expectations transparent. The position is full‑time, fully remote; workday must overlap 10am–3pm Pacific, but start times can be adjusted based on location. You must be legally eligible for employment in the United States. We offer three weeks of paid time off per year, fully paid health benefits, optional FSA/DCFSA for medical and childcare expenses, and nine paid flex holidays. Salary range: $78,000 – $99,319 per year, depending on experience and fit. All staff are eligible for an end‑of‑year profit‑sharing bonus that increases with seniority. We’re a small web and data agency working with nonprofits that fight for abortion rights, support asylum‑seeker claims, promote arts and education, and defend human rights. We design and build engaging, human‑centric websites and implement technology to power advocacy, fundraising, communications, memberships, and e‑commerce. Key project types: CRM and database implementation & data migration. Fundraising, communication, and advocacy systems improvements & data integration. Staff training, support, and change management. Website content strategy, design, and development. We seek a creative problem‑solver, great communicator, and people‑focused nonprofit systems expert. PMs are pragmatic strategists and compassionate problem‑solvers, meeting clients where they are and leading improvements to systems and processes. Day‑to‑day work ranges from troubleshooting and data cleanup to larger‑scale integrations and platform migrations. Project managers lead projects for multiple clients at all development stages, steward client budgets, and balance the big picture with hands‑on tasks. About You Experience likely in nonprofit settings and/or digital agency environments. Familiarity with Drupal, Backdrop, WordPress, Salesforce, and CiviCRM is desirable, as well as experience with email platforms (Mailchimp, HubSpot, etc.) and donation software (Classy, DonorPerfect, etc.). Ability to adapt to new technologies and apply lessons across platforms is key. About Us We’re full‑time, fully remote. Workday overlaps 10am–3pm Pacific, with flexibility for other time zones. Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. is required. Occasional co‑working in the San Francisco Bay Area or Portland is possible for staff in those areas.
