Make an impact by supporting students’ health and wellbeing in local schools as a Certified School Nurse. This onsite contract position is ideal for a flexible, collaborative nursing professional who thrives in a dynamic educational environment. You’ll be working full-time, providing crucial support across four lively school campuses—one middle school and three elementary schools, all staffed with dedicated RNs. As the CSN, you’ll primarily serve as a resource for your RN colleagues, offering guidance on student IEPs, participating in meetings, and helping create individualized emergency medical plans to ensure each student receives exceptional care.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Current Illinois Certified School Nurse (CSN) license required
• Registered Nurse (RN) credentials
• Previous school nursing experience preferred
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Confidence in managing IEP documentation and participating in multidisciplinary meetings
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
• Adaptability to move between multiple school sites as needed

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with onsite RNs to support student health needs
• Lead and participate in student IEP meetings, providing expert medical input
• Assist in developing medical emergency care plans for students with health needs
• Act as a flexible resource, stepping in wherever additional nursing expertise is required
• Foster positive relationships and communication with students, staff, and families
• Ensure compliance with state and local health standards in all actions
