Service Manager

Job Description Summary As a Service Manager, you will champion the "Sunbelt Safety Culture" across the Service Department, ensuring compliance with OSHA/ANSI, federal, state and local regulations. You will promote the CC Branch Family Culture and lead safety initiatives such as Power Up, Take 10, Proactive Events, Safety Metrics, truck and trailer DOT compliance, and weekly Power Up Talk / Engagement Wednesdays. You will lead a team of technicians, providing training and development, and foster an efficient, high‑quality work environment. You will apply the Sunbelt safety culture on the branch, at job sites and with all team members; assist in staffing the branch service team to support the business; work with leadership and region technician to set up training and development; prepare weekly work schedules and on‑call schedules; and monitor overtime hours and costs. You will manage repair and maintenance of company‑owned gear and equipment, evaluate equipment after repairs or safety checks, lead fleet readiness, review and verify equipment status documents, order parts, manage inventory, partner with vendors, handle customer complaints, manage IRR repair costs, maintain service records, create & bill work orders, file warranty claims, follow up on TSB bulletins, commission new equipment, manage fleet impairment and disposals, dispose hazardous waste, maintain fleet status records, open reports, review contracts, coordinate with sales team, verify labor hours and billing, set up supplies, monitor job folders, visit job sites, and perform other duties as assigned by the manager. Work with leadership and region technician to set up training and development of service team. Prepare weekly work schedules and on‑call schedules to support customers, operations and service calls. Monitor work schedules, overtime hours and costs. Manage repair and maintenance of company‑owned gear and equipment (Ready to Rent, Returned, Down). Evaluate all equipment after repairs, maintenance or safety checks. Lead and manage the team on fleet readiness and fleet management. Review and verify equipment status documents before and after rental and perform quality control checks. Order parts to maintain adequate supplies and manage parts and supply inventory. Work with equipment vendors to learn the maintenance requirements and capabilities of new equipment added to inventory. Handle customer complaints regarding equipment condition or operation. Manage and monitor IRR repair cost and budget compliance. Update, maintain and keep organized equipment service records. Create, update, close and bill work orders. File warranty claims in a timely fashion and follow up on all TSB bulletins for claims and billing. Commission new equipment and manage fleet impairment and disposals monthly. Manage and monitor the disposal of solid and hazardous material waste (batteries, used oil & filters, antifreeze, wash sludge). Maintain equipment service and fleet status records. Open work order reports – warranty claim summary, inventory management, parts & merchandise detail reporting, financial and historical trending, and service department financial summary. Review contracts and coordinate with sales team, customers and PoSB on delivery / set up. Verify labor hours and billing, set up supplies, vendors and materials. Review job / project folders with BM and team on a daily, weekly and monthly cadence. Visit job / project sites to provide customer service and build relationships. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager. Requirements Valid driver's license Extensive experience in the repair and maintenance of self‑propelled platforms and lifts HVAC Certification OSHA 10 Certification Knowledge of work planning and scheduling and other supervisory activities Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements.
