First Steps Childcare is now hiring and offering a $500 SIGN-ON BONUS!!! We are looking for qualified individuals who are passionate, motivated, hands-on, and flexible. We are excited to continue to grow our amazing team here in Mount Horeb, WI.

• You will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
• Create a stimulating and engaged learning environment while assisting in their development
• Develop and maintain ongoing professional communication with children and their families.
• Observe and record progress on each child on their individual progress, routines, and interests
• Always be attentive to the supervision, while remaining interactive and engaged.
• Meet and comply with licensing requirements and center policies
• Willing to take on new responsibilities

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must pass a fingerprint background check
• Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields is a plus
• Passionate about working with children
• Ability to build rapport with children
• Positive and patient demeanor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ensure children are kept active, entertained, and engaged in developmentally appropriate activities
• Exhibit composure, patience, and professionalism at all times
• Demonstrates full range of motion to: Stand and walk for extended periods of time without significant discomfort
• Ability to safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds
• Reach, stretch with hands and arms
• Climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices

• CCFT (Child Care Foundational Trainings)
• AED, Pediatric CPR and First Aide Certificate
• Abusive Head Trauma Certificate
