This full-time, permanent role offers a flexible week-on/week-off schedule, a home call model, and exceptional opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative clinical environment. Position Overview: Provide comprehensive, high-quality neonatal care within a Level III NICU and newborn nursery. Manage high-risk deliveries collaboratively with obstetric and perinatal teams to ensure optimal maternal and fetal outcomes. Deliver patient-centered care to a daily census of approximately 9-11 neonates. Work within an 8-bed Level III NICU and 10 LDR couplet care rooms. Engage actively with a multidisciplinary team that includes fellow Neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, nursing staff, and respiratory therapists. Mentor and support NICU nursing and respiratory teams, particularly as patient acuity and volume grow. Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of clinical protocols aimed at maintaining excellence in neonatal care. Participate in strategic planning to promote growth and expansion of the NICU services. Lead or participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and clinical audits. Maintain effective communication and collaboration with hospital leadership and staff. Optional participation in moonlighting opportunities across Virginia to supplement income. Qualifications: Board Certified in Neonatology or Board Eligible (with certification completion within a designated timeframe).
