Our organization is excited to announce an opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible OB/GYN to become part of our dynamic hospital-employed practice. This position is designed for a Hospitalist/Nocturnist role, where you will play a vital part in our busy medical environment.

Position Overview

• Work approximately twelve 14-hour night shifts, with options for additional night or day shifts for extra pay.
• Collaborate with a team of 8 physicians, 2 certified nurse midwives, 3 nurse practitioners, and dedicated support staff.
• Deliver routine and high-risk obstetric and gynecologic care to a diverse patient population of around 500,000 individuals.
• During overnight shifts, responsibilities include triage, labor and delivery, antepartum care, patient transfers, and consultations for postpartum patients, emergency department consults, and urgent gynecological surgeries.
• Enjoy 24-hour access to Maternal Fetal Medicine consultations via phone, along with on-site Anesthesia and NICU professionals to support patient care.
• Provide consultation services for the Northern Light Family Medicine residency program and engage with rotating medical students.

About Our Facility

Our center handles over 1,600 deliveries annually and supports a level III NICU. We serve as the referral hub for two-thirds of Maine's geographical area, with many patients traveling over two hours to deliver at our facility.

In 2016, we unveiled a $300 million tower as part of our modernization initiative, which included a complete redesign of our Women & Infants unit. This upgrade features twenty-five private patient rooms, six new labor and delivery rooms, and two advanced obstetrics/gynecology surgical suites, enhancing the level of care we provide.
