Nurse RN - Charge 7P ICU North Campus

Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, directs, coordinates, and controls the nursing activities of his or her assigned staff. Assists the Supervisor in evaluation of assigned staff and in completion of assigned projects. The Registered Nurse provides care for a group of patients utilizing the Nursing Process. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served. Responsible for maintaining nursing schedules, orientation of new employees.
Qualifications

Age of Patients Served:
All Age Groups.
Required Education:
Associate's Degree. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position. New hires or transfers into in the position between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must abide with the conditions in his or her offer letter and the verbiage in the job description signed upon hire or transfer into the position. Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013 will be grandfathered.
Effective 07/01/2018, all current employees are required to have Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN FHM) Intermediate or Advanced by 07/01/2019. New hires and transfers are required to have AWHONN FHM Intermediate or Advanced within one (1) year of hire or transfer if no previous training. Applies to: 2 L&D/Women's Srvcs-North TA 650380, Labor and Delivery 653100, Prenatal Diagnostic Program 653200, Women's Acute Care Center 653500. Effective 3-1-2021, employees must recertify fetal monitoring every two years with the required divisional update based on the available learning assigned.
Preferred Education:
BSN.
Necessary Skills:
1. Adheres to hospital and Florida Nurse Practice Act guidelines in providing patient care. 2. Familiar with patient care equipment.
Required Licensure/Certifications:
• Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida
• BLS from the American Heart Association is required for all areas.
• ACLS required at hire for Code Blue Team (626003) • ACLS required within 6 months of hire or transfer for 3 ICU-North TA (620480) • 2 L&D/Womens Srvcs-North TA (650380), 3N Obstetrics (650300), and Labor and Delivery (653100), effective 07/01/2018, all current employees are required to have ACLS by 07/01/2019. New hires and transfers are required to have ACLS within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• PALS required within 6 months for hire or transfer for Code Blue team (626003)
• NRP required within 6 months of hire or transfer for Code Blue team (626003), 2 L&D/Womens Srvcs-North TA (650380), 3N Obstetrics (650300), and Labor and Delivery (653100)
• 2 L&D/Womens Srvcs-North TA (650380) and Labor and Delivery (653100), STABLE-sugar, temp, airway, BP, lab work, emotional support requirement. Effective 07/01/2018, all current employees are required to have STABLE by 07/01/2019 and must renew it every two (2) years. New hires and transfers are required to have STABLE within 6 months of hire or transfer and must renew it every two (2) years.
Preferred Licensure/Certifications:
Professional certification preferred
Required Experience:
1-2 years of clinical experience.
