Back Plant Operator

As a Back Plant Operator, you will be responsible for performing a variety of operational tasks safely and efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic industrial environment to support Reworld's thermomechanical treatment process. This is a labor-intensive entry-level position with significant potential for advancement.

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and operation of the plant and its component equipment with emphasis on the ash handling and metal recovery systems.
• Responsible for execution of cleaning assignments, grounds keeping, and assisting plant operations and maintenance as requested
• Full participation in our extensive safety program is required, including diligent use of the Safety Observation System in Process Map.
• Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations, as well as inspection, operation and PM of mobile equipment.
• Perform daily walkdowns of the back ash area, inspecting conveyors, belts, rollers, separators, and related equipment for defects or abnormal conditions
• Monitor equipment performance, including speeds, alignment, ash buildup, and overall system cleanliness
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and assist with corrective maintenance tasks throughout the day
• Participate in the daily morning kickoff meeting (20-30 minutes) with the maintenance team to review the day's work plan
• Support scheduled system shutdowns to complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Safely perform lock-out/tag-out procedures in support of maintenance activities
• Report equipment issues and submit repair requests using established work order processes
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in the ash handling and metal recovery areas of the plant

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Reworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.
• Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule

Physical Demands of the Role:

• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
• Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
• Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
• Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
• Consistently work in various weather condition

Pay Transparency

Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.

The pay range for the primary location of this position is: 22.79 - 30.34 USD per hour
