Scientific Director, Computational Chemistry

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement computational chemistry strategies supporting drug discovery from target validation through candidate selection
- Lead application of molecular modeling, structure-based design, and AI/ML approaches for compound optimization
- Partner with medicinal chemistry, structural biology, pharmacology, and data science teams on project strategies
- Evaluate emerging computational technologies and drive implementation of generative chemistry and predictive modeling
- Establish computational workflows, best practices, and oversee external collaborations with academic partners and CROs
Requirements
- Bachelor's in chemistry with 12+ years drug discovery experience, or Master's with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing scientific teams
- Deep expertise in molecular modeling, structure-based drug design, and cheminformatics
- Demonstrated experience with AI/ML approaches including predictive modeling and generative design
- Strong publication and/or patent record in computational chemistry
- Experience integrating computational chemistry into multidisciplinary drug discovery teams
- Familiarity with CNS drug discovery or neuroscience-focused research
