Jackson EMC is an Equal Opportunity and Affiantive Action Employer including, Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities There is one (1) full-time opening POSITION OBJECTIVES To provide an efficient and effective warehousing and receiving system for all materials and supplies required by the Cooperative for line construction, maintenance, and other functions; to work and communicate in a team-oriented environment in accordance with the vision, mission and values of the Cooperative. MINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATIONS All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities. EDUCATION Require High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer education beyond high school with emphasis in warehousing, supply chain, or related field. Require ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted on an intermittent basis. Require forklift certification within first 6 months. EXPERIENCE As this is an entry-level position, a minimum experience requirement is not specified. Prefer experience in work related to the requirements of the position, including receiving, storing, and issuing material with related clerical work of inventory and control. KNOWLEDGE Require a working knowledge of, or the basic knowledge to learn to apply the principles related to, the duties of the position, including receiving and issuing materials and supplies, determining the materials required to make up construction units, keeping inventory records, compiling reports, and maintaining neat and orderly storage of materials and supplies. Require the willingness to pursue a continuous program of self-development both inside and outside of work hours in furthering his/her knowledge to develop in the job and accept increasing responsibilities. SKILLS Require effective leadership skills, excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work in a team environment. Require the ability to perform neat and accurate clerical work required by the duties of the position and according to schedules. Require the ability to meet and effectively communicate with member-consumers, sales representatives, the general public, and employees so as to stimulate goodwill and effective relations. Require the ability to organize work and make recommendations for the establishment of an effective warehousing system, including storage and control procedures. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS AND CONDITIONS Reports to: General Warehousing Supervisor or District Warehouse Coordinator Directs: None Internal: Actively participates within the Cooperative team environment to develop supportive relationships essential to the success of the functions of this position, achieving the results expected and encouraging throughout the organization the concepts of teamwork and cooperative spirit. External: Develops and maintains supportive relationships with member/consumers, the general public, and other external contacts to assure positive results. This position is primarily medium work; requires visual acuity as a mobile equipment operator; requires ability to hear, talk, grasp, lift, walk, stand, and reach; and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. This document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise, other than an "at will" employment document. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Assembles materials required for construction work order sheets, prepares for issue to line crews, and receives and checks all material in excess of requirements for return to stock according to established procedure. 2. Receives/checks in all materials and prepares receiving report as required. 3. Prepares information on inventory to maintain adequate stock levels of tools, specialized equipment, and spare parts. 4. Unloads/transports materials as required or directed. 5. Packs/ships material returned to suppliers due to damage or order error. 6. Provides storage for specialized tools and equipment within warehouse spaces, receives broken tools that are turned in for repair or replacement, and takes appropriate action to have damaged tools repaired or replaced. 7. Transmits and receives calls on Cooperative radio and communicates essential information to line crew and service personnel in field as required. 8. Checks in all salvageable materials and disposes of unusable material and adjusts records according to established procedures. 9. Maintains storeroom and warehouse spaces in clean, neat, orderly manner. 10. Stays informed of all Cooperative policies and procedures and attends and participates in special meetings and training sessions as required. 11. Assists in inventory spot checks and full inventory counts according to departmental procedures. 12. Develops working knowledge of REA line construction and specifications. 13. Operate various machinery including sweeper, backhoe, skid steer, etc. 14. Is familiar with and follows the best safety practices set forth in the Cooperative's Safety Manual. 15. Attends and participates in annual meeting as required or directed. 16. Performs such other duties as may be required or directed.

For a warehouse clerk position involving interdepartmental transfer of materials and supplies, the candidate must possess or obtain a CDL Learner's Permit within the first 6 months in the position, keep the learner's permit for at least 6 months, and obtain a CDL within one year from the date of hire in the position.
