Registered Nurse Infusion

Job Summary:


The Registered Nurse - Infusion is responsible for delivering specialized nursing care primarily focused on oncology-based therapies including chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IVIG, hydration, and iron infusions. This role requires strong clinical skills in infusion therapy and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient care. Candidates must have a chemotherapy certification, at least two years of relevant experience, and the ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:4 in an acute care hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IVIG, hydration, and iron therapies safely and effectively.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor patient responses to infusion treatments.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic electronic medical records.
• Educate patients and families regarding infusion procedures and potential side effects.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
• Float between similar units as needed to support staffing requirements.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Chemotherapy certification (CHEMO CERT) is mandatory.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with infusion or oncology experience preferred.
• Proficient in clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning related to infusion therapy.
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:4.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in an acute care hospital with a Magnet designation.
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records system.
• Comfortable working within a 50-mile radius travel requirement.

Special Considerations:

• No on-call requirements.
• Floating between similar units may be required.
• Weekend work is not required.
• Return to Office (RTO) policies must be included at time of submission.
• Free parking available on site.
• Scrub color for RNs is royal blue.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule and block scheduling are determined at manager discretion.
• Guaranteed hours with the possibility of being called off once per two-week pay period.
