A Brief Overview:
Performs specimen procurement and/or processing of laboratory specimens. Provides laboratory support functions.
What You Will Do:
- Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards.
- Performs computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting and/or phlebotomy
- Processes specimens for laboratory testing
- Competent in the collection or processing of specialized samples
- Performs with minimal error rate
- Acts as a trainer and is a resource to other Specimen Processor Phlebotomists
- Needs minimal supervision and problems solves with little or no supervision
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients
Qualifications:
Education: High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and Other Accredited Program: Formal Training from an accredited phlebotomy school or medical assistant program (preferred)
Work Experience: 1+ years phlebotomy experience preferred

- Working knowledge of pre-analytic laboratory and safety policies and procedures
- Displays initiative to perform job duties
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members
- Competent on venipuncture, heel stick, and fingerstick for all ages
Licenses and Certifications:
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
- Phlebotomy Certification (preferred)
