Job Title: General Production Worker / Forklift Operator

Job Description

This role involves operating a sit-down forklift and performing a variety of production, assembly, and general labor tasks in a manufacturing environment. You will support material handling, packing, and machine operation to keep production running smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift safely to move raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Handle materials efficiently, including loading, unloading, stacking, and staging products in designated areas.
• Support production lines by supplying materials and removing completed products as needed.
• Perform basic assembly and production tasks according to established procedures and quality standards.
• Assist with machine operating activities, such as feeding materials into machines and monitoring basic machine functions.
• Carry out general labor duties, including packing, labeling, and preparing products for shipment.
• Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
• Use mechanical aptitude to identify simple issues with equipment or materials and report them promptly.
• Accurately follow instructions from supervisors and collaborate with team members to meet production goals.
• Participate in inventory-related activities, such as moving and organizing stock, as directed.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating a sit-down forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand basic machinery and production processes.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, moving, and handling materials throughout the shift.
• Background in general labor, production, or assembly work.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a fast-paced production setting.
• Attention to detail when handling materials, packing products, and supporting inventory-related tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in material handling and packing in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with basic machine operation and monitoring in a production setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a production team and take direction well.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to changing production needs.

Work Environment

You will work in a manufacturing facility that can be warm and dusty, where you will regularly operate a sit-down forklift and handle materials around production equipment. You should be comfortable working in a hands-on environment with exposure to typical manufacturing conditions and wearing appropriate work attire suitable for an active production floor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calhoun, GA.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Calhoun,GA.
