The Greene School (TGS) is a public charter high school located in West Greenwich, Rhode Island, serving approximately 200 students in grades 9–12. Our students come from the entire state of RI - including urban, rural and suburban areas. We are rooted in EL Education (Expeditionary Learning model) and grounded in a commitment to environmental education, student agency, and authentic learning experiences for students from diverse cultures and backgrounds. TGS has recently received state approval to expand to a 6–12 configuration, adding a middle school program that will deepen our continuum of learning and strengthen our community. This is an exciting moment in our school's history and an equally exciting time to join our community. Position Summary TGS is seeking a part-time School Psychologist to join our Support Services Team two days per week. The School Psychologist applies expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to help students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally, and partners with families, teachers, and administrators to strengthen connections among home, school, and community. This is an ideal role for a psychologist seeking meaningful, flexible part-time work within a small, close-knit school community. Scope of Work The School Psychologist provides a range of services consistent with current National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) standards, delivered within the two-day-per-week schedule and prioritized in collaboration with the Director of Special Education. Core areas of focus include: Data-based decision making to identify student and school-wide needs and monitor progress Consultation and collaboration with administrators, teachers, and caregivers Direct services, including conducting evaluations, designing academic interventions, supports, and mental and behavioral health services Indirect services, including school-wide practices that promote learning and safe, supportive environments Equitable, research- and evidence-based practice consistent with legal and ethical standards Responsibilities Assessment and Data-Based Decision Making Utilize varied models and methods of assessment and data collection to identify the strengths and needs of individual students and the broader school community. Develop effective services and programs and measure progress and outcomes over time. Consultation and Collaboration Consult and collaborate with colleagues, students, families, and other stakeholders to promote effective implementation of services. Partner with the Director of Special Education and Principal to prioritize caseload and service delivery within the part-time schedule. Contribute to crisis preparation, response, and recovery planning as part of the Special Services Team. Academic and Behavioral Interventions In collaboration with teachers and staff, implement and evaluate services that support cognitive, academic, social, and behavioral skills through a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS). Provide direct mental and behavioral health services, including individual and group counseling and social skills training, as scheduling allows. Family and Community Collaboration Implement and evaluate services that respond to culture and context and facilitate family-school partnerships and connections with community agencies. Promote effective, culturally responsive services for TGS's diverse student population, families, and staff. Schedule This is a part-time position requiring two days per week on campus, with specific days to be determined in coordination with the Director of Special Education based on caseload and school needs. Compensation Salary is prorated based on a two-day-per-week schedule and commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements

• Qualifications Required: Advanced degree in School Psychology from a regionally accredited institution. Completion of an accredited graduate degree program at the specialist level (e.g., Ed.S.; M.A. + CAGS; M.A. + CAS; M.S./M.A.) or higher, requiring a minimum of 60 graduate semester hours and a 1,200-hour supervised internship in School Psychology, with at least 600 hours in a school setting. Valid Rhode Island Professional Certificate for assignment as a School Psychologist, grades PK-12. Preferred: Experience in a public charter or small-school setting. Familiarity with MTSS frameworks and expeditionary or place-based learning models. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, including students of color, LGBTQ+ students, and students from a range of religious and socioeconomic backgrounds.
