Respiratory Care Practitioner - RRT

Job Overview St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles Respiratory Therapy – Regular full‑time night shift position (3 days, 12‑hour shifts). Rotating weekends/holidays. Sign‑on bonus available. Requires a two‑year service commitment. RRT and CRT welcome. Job Summary Provides evaluation of and care for respiratory therapy patients. Administers prescribed respiratory therapeutic services. Responsibilities Assess patients to determine appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis. Provide respiratory care services according to physician orders, departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines. Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities. Evaluate respiratory practice, medication administration, and treatment based on patient outcome. Educate patient and family about the health condition and available community support groups and programs. Assist with care, calibration and maintenance of all equipment. Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment. Process equipment per established cleaning/sterilization procedures. Respond to medical emergencies and rapid responses. Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Perform other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent education. No experience required. (RRT or CRT credentials are welcomed.) Physical Requirements Constant use of speech for oral communication. Constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0‑25 lbs. Frequent sitting, reaching, keyboard use, and data entry. Frequent vision and depth perception for distances near (≤20 inches) and far (≥20 feet) with color discrimination. Frequent hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds, alarms, and malfunctioning machinery. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25‑50 lbs. Occasional moving of patients. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, repetitive foot/leg, hand/arm movements. Occasional driving. Rare crawling and running. Required Licenses & Certifications Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA). Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Respiratory Care Practitioner – Missouri Division of Professional Registration. Job Details Location: Missouri.
