General Manager

The Wren, Bowery's best bar for seasonal cocktails, bar food, and private events, is looking for a General Manager to lead our team! As General Manager, you will oversee daily operations for The Wren. This role calls for a hands-on leader who leads from the floor, builds genuine relationships with regulars, supports and develops the team, and runs busy services with confidence, warmth, and attention to detail.

WHO YOU ARE:

• 3+ years of experience in restaurant management in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• An approachable and intelligent leader who can motivate, manage, and develop a large and diverse team
• Excellent verbal and written/digital communication skills
• Self-starter who is results-oriented and who appreciates and takes initiative on both the essential details and the bigger picture
• Team player with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
• Superb time management skills with the ability to prioritize and organize work assignments have timely follow-up and execution
• Extensive knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and cocktails
• Full availability, including nights and weekends

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Oversee and hands-on management of day-to-day operations of The Wren
• Manage the FOH and BOH teams, working on the floor to create a positive work environment, drive sales, motive the team, and create exceptional guest experiences
• Lead the team on hiring, training, coaching, and overall development of team members including orientation, performance reviews, and any necessary disciplinary action
• Work closely with the Event Manager to execute The Wren's events program and ensure exceptional guest experiences
• Manage administrative and financial responsibilities including payroll, onboarding, reporting, and day-to-day business operations
• Maintain quality and standards of The Wren's culture, food, drink, service, and atmosphere
• Foster a dynamic, fun, and inclusive culture
