Department: MedSurg - # of beds: 23 on 4th floor/14 on 3rd floor- Ratios: 1:5 ideal- can go up to 1:7
- Required certifications: BLS
- Common diagnoses: NSTEMI/ COPD/ Client/Sepsis/ AKI/
- Experience: 2 Years MedSurg experience; has to have EPIC experience.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Yes
- Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: PCTs- 1:8
- RT Equipment: Home units only at this time. Heated High Flow is the highest level of hospital.
- Is there tele on this unit: Yes. MTs scheduled and will read the strips. RNs to sign off on strips throughout shift.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 7A-7P/ 7P-7A
- Weekend Requirement: Every other typically
- Holiday Requirement: Every other typically
- Is there a call or standby requirement?: Low census can happen but is rare. No on call.
- Floating Requirements: ICU if candidate has level of experience, ER if candidate has level of experience, if candidate has level of experience. Otherwise no floating is required our of Med Surg.
- Scrub Color: Any scrub color is fine. Close toed shoes. Good hygiene.
