Must-Have:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing
- Ability to work with common diagnoses such as NSTEMI, COPD, PNA, Sepsis, and AKI
- Understanding that drug screening is mandatory


Description:
The unit has a total of 37 beds.
The ideal nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 but can go up to 1:7 in certain situations.
PCTs are available on the unit with a ratio of 1:8.
Nurses will not be required to titrate drips.
There are Charge Nurses and House Supervisors available.
The unit is equipped with telemetry, and nursing staff is responsible for signing off on strips throughout their shift.
Shifts are scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM.
Weekend and holiday shifts are required every other time typically.
There is a low requirement for call or standby, which is rare.
Floating to ICU, ER, or BHC may occur if the candidate has the appropriate level of experience.
All staff members are expected to maintain good hygiene and wear any color scrubs with closed-toe shoes.
One shift of department-specific orientation will be provided.
The charting system used is EPIC.
This position does not require a BSN.
It is important to be aware of the drug-free campus policy.
