We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the ongoing operation and reliability of manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and utilities within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This position will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting equipment installations and facility improvement projects.

The ideal candidate is mechanically strong, comfortable troubleshooting independently, and able to work safely within a highly regulated cGMP manufacturing environment. This role requires someone who can identify the root cause of equipment problems, make effective repairs, and clearly document maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production, facility, and utility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electromechanical equipment to identify the cause of equipment failures and determine appropriate repairs.
  • Maintain manufacturing equipment used in the production of pharmaceutical products, including pumps, agitators, mechanical seals, gaskets, compression equipment, encapsulation machinery, compactors, coating equipment, and related systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot facility and utility systems, including HVAC, compressed air, dust collection, refrigeration, boilers, electrical systems, purified water/RO systems, and other supporting utilities.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, layouts, specifications, and electrical/wiring diagrams.
  • Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, levels, and other diagnostic tools to evaluate equipment and components.
  • Make equipment adjustments, alignments, repairs, and component replacements using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Fabricate or modify replacement components when necessary using machine shop equipment.
  • Assist with the installation, startup, modification, and maintenance of new equipment and facility systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment conditions, repairs, and follow-up requirements.
  • Provide technical information to assist with identifying and ordering replacement parts and maintaining appropriate spare-parts inventory.
  • Communicate equipment issues, maintenance needs, and ongoing work clearly with team members and other departments.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests while maintaining a strong focus on production needs and internal customer service.
  • Follow established SOPs, manufacturer recommendations, maintenance procedures, and cGMP requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all site safety policies and procedures, including proper lockout/tagout practices.
  • Perform confined-space work when required and in accordance with applicable safety procedures.
  • Complete assigned maintenance work safely, accurately, and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, food, chemical, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Experience maintaining pumps, seals, gaskets, agitators, production machinery, and other industrial equipment.
  • Working knowledge of facility and utility systems such as HVAC, compressed air, dust collection, boilers, refrigeration, and water purification systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment layouts, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools and common maintenance equipment.
  • Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Confined-space training or experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize maintenance needs, and resolve equipment problems with limited supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately document work performed and communicate equipment conditions and outstanding issues.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures, quality standards, and established maintenance practices.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will be a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting problems and keeping equipment operating reliably. You should be comfortable working independently, but also able to communicate effectively with production, engineering, and other maintenance team members.

Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is highly valued, particularly for candidates who understand the importance of documentation, safety, preventive maintenance, and cGMP compliance.
