Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in executing specialized treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs, focusing on enhancing mobility and functional abilities.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and rehabilitative activities, ensuring proper techniques to facilitate recovery.
• Educate patients about body mechanics, exercise routines, and home exercise plans, which are crucial for their continued improvement post-discharge.
• Administer various therapeutic modalities, such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and cryotherapy, under the supervision of the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Monitor and document patients' progress meticulously, including tracking their range of motion improvements and strength advancements.
• Prepare treatment areas and maintain an organized supply inventory to ensure efficient therapy sessions.
• Actively participate in case discussions with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care strategies and outcomes.
• Provide empathetic support to patients throughout their rehabilitation journeys, creating a nurturing and positive atmosphere.
• Uphold ethical standards and patient confidentiality in all interactions.

The typical patient demographic at our facility includes individuals recovering from surgical procedures, those with chronic or acute physical conditions, and patients experiencing neurological challenges. Therefore, the role of the PTA requires adaptability and a customized approach to care to cater to varying rehabilitation needs and goals, encompassing both young athletes and elderly patients.

Qualifications

• Hold an Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Possess a valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in New Jersey.
• Demonstrate a strong foundational knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions.
• Exhibit proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities with supervision.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with patients and effectively collaborate with the healthcare team.
• Display a compassionate approach to patient care with a genuine interest in helping clients achieve their rehabilitation objectives.
• Possess strong organizational and time management capabilities.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with prior experience working in a rehabilitation hospital or clinic are highly regarded. Experience with electronic health record systems and knowledge of rehabilitative equipment is advantageous. Additionally, familiarity with different therapeutic approaches and techniques would be beneficial in adapting treatment plans to meet diverse patient needs.

Compensation and Benefits
