Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - Certified Surgical Technologist/CST

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with 2 years of experience for a hospital surgical services position requiring broad scrubbing experience across multiple specialties.

Job Details

• Community hospital setting including General OR and Hybrid OR,
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM,
• Call required, including holiday on-call shifts as applicable,
• Block scheduling and special schedule requests are not guaranteed or accommodated,
• Travelers are expected to float unless otherwise stated,
• Epic EMR experience preferred,

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required,
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification required,
• BLS certification required,
• Epic experience within the last 18 months required,
• Active compact or TN license required, if applicable,
• Experience scrubbing in multiple surgical specialties including craniotomies, laparoscopic, orthopedic, and endovascular cases (excluding CV surgery),
• Experience with aseptic technique, isolation precautions/PPE, laser safety, radiation safety, and sharps safety,
• Experience with universal protocol (time out) procedures and specimen handling/labeling,
• Candidates requiring respirator fit testing must be clean-shaven,

Additional Information

• Scrub in a wide variety of surgical cases spanning vascular, gynecology, plastics, neuro, podiatry, general surgery, and orthopedic procedures,
• Assist with endoscopic procedures such as bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, EGD, and peg tube placement/exchange,
• Work with robotic surgical systems including Da Vinci Xi and Mako Surgical System,
• Handle equipment such as crash carts, drills, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light sources,
• Support ENT procedures including endoscopic sinus procedures, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, and tracheostomy,
• Maintain emergency management and fire safety protocols,
• Local candidates and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate,
• Return travelers must disclose their status for staffing approval,
• All RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration, as additional time off will not be approved afterward
