Cytogenetic / Molecular Laboratory DirectorOnsite/Non-Remote located in beautiful Nashville, TN FULL TIME ROLE - COMPETITIVE SALARY W/EXCELLENT BENEFITS!Position Summary: The Cytogenetic / Molecular Laboratory Director is responsible for the overall technical and operational oversight of both Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics laboratories, with a balanced 50/50 focus. This role ensures the accuracy, quality, and compliance of all laboratory testing, while providing leadership in developing and implementing advanced diagnostic methodologies.Key Responsibilities:Provide technical and operational leadership for Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics laboratoriesOversee test validation, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP)Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory policies, procedures, and quality control programsEnsure accuracy, validity, and timely reporting of diagnostic resultsDirect and evaluate laboratory staff, including training and performance managementCollaborate with physicians, genetic counselors, and clinical teams on test utilization and interpretationParticipate in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocationEvaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance laboratory performanceMaintain proficiency testing standards and continuous quality improvement initiativesSupport educational and training programs for laboratory personnel and traineesQualifications:PhD in Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related life science fieldBoard certification in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (LGG) required (ABMGG)Dual board certification in Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics preferred; LGG-certified candidates acceptedEligibility for or possession of a Tennessee state laboratory director license requiredDemonstrated experience in clinical laboratory leadership and operations
