We are seeking a Server Assistant who will be responsible for assisting with delivery and service of hotel food and beverage offerings to the restaurants guests. Part of the Milwaukee-based Marcus Hotels & Resorts portfolio, HOTEL PASEO offers guests a distinctive desert retreat featuring 150 thoughtfully designed guest rooms and suites, many showcasing breathtaking views of the San Jacinto Mountains and palm-lined landscape. Guests can unwind by our resort-style pool and on-site spa, explore the area on complimentary bicycles, and enjoy inspired dining at Larkspur Grill, Lemon Drop Pool Bar or Caf Paseo. Located along world-renowned El Paseo, our boutique hotel places guests steps from premier shopping, art galleries, acclaimed restaurants, and vibrant nightlife while serving as the perfect gateway to Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley.

What will you be doing?

• Thoroughly understand the menu, wine list, ingredients, preparation, and expected service
• Deliver all required Service Accents to the guest (e.g., SSA presentation, bread presentation, horseradish/cheese grating, and dessert presentation)
• Maintain a neat, clean, organized, safe work environment
• Transport and polish clean dishware, utensils, and accessories as needed
• Comply with opening and closing procedures as well as complete side work
• Communicate with the culinary and management team throughout duration of shift
• Address and resolve customer complaints
• Clean and reset dining room tables and booths during and after meal
• Perform other duties as assigned

What do you bring to the role?

• Prior hospitality or customer service experience is preferred
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
• Must be proficient in multi-tasking, have the ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout shifts, and have the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to understand verbal and written English to comprehend basic guest requests and caution/safety notices
• Ability to grasp, lift, carry, and/or transport up to 50 lbs. through a crowded room
