Overview Water Treatment Chemical Service Technician – Charlotte, North Carolina. Garratt-Callahan is a family-friendly, profitable, private company with a long history of stability. Chemical Service Technicians provide sales support by maintaining the existing customer base in the greater Charlotte area. You will perform water treatment tests at existing customers and have the freedom to work from home, training in the territory alongside veteran Territory Managers. The career path is to train to become a Territory Manager, with unlimited commission and a year-end bonus for Territory Managers. Compensation and benefits are competitive, with a base salary tied to experience and success, and a car allowance. We provide ample technical support and continuous training, with paperwork kept to a minimum. Job Responsibilities Solve customers’ water problems. Treat industrial boilers and cooling towers to keep them energy efficient and environmentally friendly. Perform detailed water testing and analyses at industrial sites such as food processing plants, hospitals, manufacturing plants, commercial buildings, and data centers. Help sell Garratt-Callahan’s proprietary chemical blends, equipment, and monitoring technology. Passivation of stainless steel in industrial water treatment systems. Help sell corrosion and scale inhibitors, coagulants, flocculants, biocides, bio-augmentation, feed and monitoring equipment, water management plans, and reverse osmosis products. Help sell Water Safety Programs. Maintain relationships with existing customers and bring on new industrial customers. Requirements You will be a successful applicant if you have a technical degree such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Mechanical Engineering, Paper Science, or Water Resources. You must have a 4-year science degree to qualify for this position and be a capable chemist. One-year technical sales experience or an internship related to water treatment chemicals is preferred, but we are willing to train and mentor. Outside industrial sales experience is a plus.
