Industry Landscape Construction & Outdoor Development About Del Rio Landscape Del Rio Landscape is a growing landscape construction company serving residential and commercial clients throughout San Diego County. We specialize in complete outdoor projects, including landscape construction, irrigation, concrete and hardscape, drainage, planting, lighting, fencing, turf, and related site improvements. We are looking for a motivated Sales Executive who can help expand our commercial and new-business division by developing relationships, identifying opportunities, and bringing new projects to Del Rio. The Role This is a business-development-focused sales position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable creating opportunities - not simply waiting for leads to come in. Your primary focus will be developing new commercial accounts, partnerships, and project opportunities. You may also generate your own residential landscape construction opportunities. The position involves prospecting, networking, building relationships, identifying qualified opportunities, coordinating estimates and proposals with our team, and helping move projects from initial conversation through signed contract. What You'll Do Develop new commercial landscape construction accounts and relationships. Prospect for new business throughout San Diego County. Build relationships with property managers, general contractors, developers, builders, HOAs, commercial property owners, and other potential partners. Generate personally sourced residential landscape construction opportunities. Conduct initial conversations with prospective clients and determine project needs. Qualify opportunities based on budget, scope, service area, decision-maker, and project timing. Coordinate with Del Rio's estimating and operations teams to develop proposals. Present proposals and follow up with prospective clients. Maintain consistent communication throughout the sales process. Track prospects, opportunities, proposals, and follow-ups in Jobber. Maintain accurate lead-source information and sales notes. Participate in regular sales/operations meetings. Help develop long-term commercial relationships and repeat business. Commission Structure Commission-based compensation with strong earning potential: Project Source | Commission Personally sourced commercial projects 6% Personally sourced residential projects 8% Company-assigned projects 4% What We're Looking For Experience in sales, business development, or relationship-based selling. Comfortable prospecting and generating your own opportunities. Confident communicating with business owners, contractors, property managers, and decision-makers. Organized with consistent follow-up and comfortable working independently. Able to build long-term professional relationships. Comfortable using CRM/job-management software. Professional when representing Del Rio in the field and at meetings. Familiarity with construction, landscaping, property management, or commercial services is a strong plus. Able to understand project scope and communicate effectively with estimating and operations teams. What Success Looks Like This role is focused on developing a real pipeline of qualified opportunities and converting those relationships into profitable projects. Performance will be tracked around new opportunities, meetings, proposals, next steps, expected award dates, win rate, and sold margin. Our initial planning model uses approximately 5 qualified opportunities per quarter and a longer-term planning scenario of approximately $600,000 in annual new-business revenue.
