Spanish speaking Mental Health Therapist: 20h/w Role Description The Mental Health Counselor is a part-time, on-site role located at Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, CA. This position provides individual and group counseling to students experiencing a wide range of mental health, academic, and personal concerns, using culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, maintaining case records, and coordinating referrals to campus and community resources. The counselor collaborates with faculty, staff, and student services to support student well-being, participates in case consultations, and may contribute to workshops, outreach, and crisis response efforts. The role also involves promoting an inclusive, antiracist environment that supports diverse identities and experiences. Qualifications Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field; appropriate clinical licensure or eligibility as required by California regulations. Experience working in educational or community settings with culturally diverse and historically marginalized populations, using equity-minded and antiracist practices. Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Training or experience in crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, and safety planning is highly beneficial.
