It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work

This position is located at Eastern Correctional Institution. This position will assist the Administrative Specialist II with a variety of personnel tasks.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

The responsibilities of this position include entry of timesheets, assisting with key components of hiring process, & administering new hire orientation. Assists with Separations, Workers Comp Claims, FMLA, Military Leave, Short Term Disability and other types of Leave of Absences. Position responds to a variety of Personnel questions from staff and the public. Position maintains personnel records and other extensive filing systems.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences:

Salary Range: $39,244 -$68,679

The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred.

· Documented knowledge of human resource personnel functions.

· Documented experience using Microsoft Office and/or any related software.

· Documented experience carrying out both oral and written instructions

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

About the Division of Institutions :

The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.
