SFE Engineering is seeking an Entry Level Building Inspector to join our dedicated team in Flushing. This full-time, on-site position offers a unique opportunity to start your career in the architecture and planning industry, working closely with experienced professionals to ensure the safety and compliance of various construction projects.
As a Building Inspector, you will be responsible for evaluating building structures, ensuring they meet code requirements, and providing valuable feedback to contractors and builders. Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of building structures to ensure compliance with codes and regulations
- Document inspection findings and provide feedback to contractors and builders
- Collaborate with architects and engineers on project specifications
- Review construction plans for accuracy and code compliance
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate records
- Stay updated on building codes and regulations
- Assist senior inspectors with complex inspections
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including clients and city officials
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Basic understanding of building codes and construction practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to learn and develop within the field
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
