Position Overview We are seeking a detail‑oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to support the financial operations across all three companies. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities Monitor accounts receivable aging on an ongoing basis and proactively follow up on outstanding balances to support healthy cash flow across all three companies. Review daily financial transactions requiring reconciliation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of discrepancies. Process incoming checks and prepare daily bank deposits, maintaining accurate records and supporting proper cash management procedures. Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements and balance sheet accounts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions between Spot Zero, Elite Marine A/C, and Southern Marine Supply, ensuring balances are accurate and properly recorded. Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, helping to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and other accounting adjustments as necessary to support accurate financial reporting. Support month‑end and year‑end close activities by completing assigned reconciliations, analyses, and reporting requirements within established deadlines. Generate financial reports and support schedules as requested by management to assist with business decision‑making and operational planning. Ensure accounting practices remain compliant with company policies, internal controls, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Support the development and maintenance of strong internal controls while identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies. Serve as a backup resource for payroll processing and related payroll functions when needed. Maintain organized financial records and documentation to support audits, reporting requirements, and ongoing business operations. Collaborate with leadership and cross‑functional teams to provide accounting support and contribute to the continued growth and success of all three organizations. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant accounting experience will also be considered. Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting processes. Proficiency in Paylocity is required, including experience navigating payroll, employee records, reporting, and other accounting‑related functions within the platform. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with formulas, pivot tables, and financial data analysis. Experience with accounting and ERP software is required. Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and support multiple business entities. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision. High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential financial and employee information. A proactive, team‑oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy, continuous improvement, and delivering high‑quality work. Work Environment & Schedule This is a full‑time, in‑office position. Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM.
