We are seeking an experienced and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our leadership team as a Manager - Respiratory Therapy. This is a managerial position with direct reports, reporting to the Director of Respiratory Therapy, and provides operational, clinical, and people leadership for the evening shift , with hours extending until approximately midnight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage staffing, resource allocation, workflow, and operational concerns within established departmental and organizational guidelines.
• Complete charge review and reconciliation and address identified concerns.
• Conduct and follow up on clinical audits related to quality, patient safety, clinical practice, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide clinical instruction, education, and competency support as needed.
• Support onboarding, orientation, retention, and ongoing development of Respiratory Therapists.
• Address employee performance and practice concerns through appropriate coaching, documentation, and follow-up.
• Collaborate with nursing, providers, and other leaders to address clinical, operational, and patient-care concerns.
• Partner with the Director of Respiratory Therapy on departmental initiatives, quality improvement, staff development, and implementation of organizational priorities.
• Participate in leadership meetings, departmental planning, and other managerial responsibilities.
• Identify opportunities to improve clinical practice, operational processes, staff engagement, and patient care.
• Help develop future leaders within the Respiratory Therapy department.

Summary:

The Respiratory Manager is a Registered Respiratory Therapist who directs and coordinates the daily operation and functions of the Respiratory Therapy Department within the hospital. Works closely with staff personnel in the department as well as those in other disciplines. Ensures that policies, procedures, goals and objectives of the Respiratory Therapy Department are planned, organizes and implemented in a manner consistent with the mission of Southern Maine Health Care. Under the leadership of the Nursing Director, the manager will plan, organize, direct, coordinate, evaluate and control all resources (personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities and budget) toward the attainment of departmental and hospital goals and objectives . This role will consist of a combination of management and clinically oriented activities as appropriate to departmental needs.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: A.S degree in Respiratory care required.
2. License/Certifications: Licensed by the State of Maine as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and credentials from the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Holds and maintains credentials in BLS and NRP. PALS and ACLS are preferred.
3. Experience: Four years' clinical experience in respiratory therapy.
4. Holds and maintains credentials in BLS and NRP. PALS and ACLS are preferred
5. Requires a thorough knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathology, diagnostic techniques, treatment methods and equipment selection and maintenance for all aspects of the performance of respiratory care procedures therapy.
6. Must be proficient in the formation, assessment and implementation of a respiratory care plan in treatment, care and monitoring of patients.
7. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing .Must be able to work closely with other managerial personnel and staff personnel in a consistently appropriate and professional manner.
8. Requires interpersonal skills necessary to provide direct supervision to personnel working in various areas of the hospital. Must be able to instruct personnel in new methods of respiratory care in clinical environments.

The pay range for this position is $104,956.80to $141,980.80per year.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
