Job Description Now Hiring: Dental Assistant (Full-Time / Part-Time) Location: Plattsburgh, NY Compensation: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour (commensurate with experience) Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time About Us At Champlain Smiles, we take pride in providing exceptional, patient-centered dental care to the Plattsburgh community. We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our growing team! Key Responsibilities Chairside Assisting: Assist the dentist through a variety of diagnostic, preventative, and restorative clinical procedures. Patient Care: Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensure their comfort, and provide post-operative instructions and oral healthcare education. Operatory Preparation: Set up and break down treatment rooms following strict infection control guidelines and OSHA standards. Instrument Sterilization: Process, clean, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment safely and efficiently. Radiography: Take high-quality digital dental X-rays as directed. Administrative & Charting: Maintain accurate digital patient records, treatment plans, and chart entries. Assist front office staff when needed. Qualifications & Skills Education & Certification: High school diploma or equivalent. NYS Dental Assistant Certification or licensure is a plus (or willingness to obtain). X-Ray Certification: NYS Dental Radiography Certification required (or equivalent credentialing). Experience: 1+ years of chairside assisting experience preferred, but motivated entry-level candidates and recent graduates are encouraged to apply! Technical Proficiency: Experience with dental practice software (e.g., Open Dental, Dentrix) and digital radiography preferred. Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills, compassionate demeanor, attention to detail, and a team-first mindset.
