Machinist - 1st & 2nd ShiftLocation: Jupiter/Stuart FL.Status: Contract to HireJob SummaryThe essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:Machine parts to specifications using CNC multi-axis equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders or EDM.Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.Measure and visually inspect completed components in process to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments based on drawing or work instruction requirements.Set-up, adjust and operate all of the manual and CNC machining centers in order to perform precision machining operations.Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments accessories and materials onto machines.Monitor speed and feed rates during the machining process to complete machining efficiently and within tolerances.Study sample parts, drawings, or engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate product and determine product dimensions and tolerances.Select the appropriate tools, machines and materials to be used in preparation for machining work based on work instruction.Maintain industrial machines per the required daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance schedule.Confer with engineering, technical lead, supervisor and manufacturing personnel in order to exchange technical information.Fit and assemble parts to make or repair machine tooling.Perform cleaning requirements at end of each shiftMaintain and improve 5s standards for work-centerPerform other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements Education & TrainingHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentCNC programming certification / documented training is strongly preferredMust complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM's EHS Training MatrixSkills/Experience2+ years of experience in industry with specific skills related to manual and CNC machining of multi axis machines.Familiar with Fanuc Controls and has programming experience with multi-axis CNC equipment.Working knowledge of GD&T is required.Experience in computer skills to include Xcel, Word and email platformsExperience in electronic labor tracking databasesMust be self-motivated and possess a demonstrated ability to handle multiple issues in a responsive and decisive manner.Experience in quality systems. Prior experience working under formal environments such as NADCAP, ISO 9001, AS9100 or other quality programs.Must be a detailed oriented, high energy, self-starter with the ability to drive the successful completion of projects within specified time framesStrong communication skills required both verbal and electronicStrong quality, attention to detail and customer focus skillsProcess and Team oriented; Multicultural sensitivityTrustworthy, quick learning, innovative and reliablePhysical RequirementsStooping/Crouching. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.The worker is subject to hazards.
