Community-Based Child and Family Therapist

The Children's Place in Kansas City is now hiring for the full-time position of Community-Based Child & Family Therapist. Are you passionate about early intervention to help the youngest children heal from traumatic events and thrive? The Children's Place is seeking a dedicated Community-Based Pediatric Mental Health Therapist to join our Counseling Center team and work specifically with children ages eight and younger at early childhood centers throughout the community.

What You'll Do

• Provide on-site services in the community, specifically early childhood education centers 2-4 days per week. The remaining days will be providing outpatient therapy and/or working on-site at The Children's Place.
• Provide therapy to clients; services may include individual, family therapy, psychoeducation, and group work. The agency utilizes Play Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing), Theraplay, PC-CARE and TF-CBT as modalities of therapy.
• Maintain a caseload of approximately 20 clients, with at least 12 sessions weekly.
• Facilitate trust and communication with caregivers in person, via telephone or telehealth at a minimum of one time monthly to include them as active participants in the treatment process.
• Develop timely, quality mental health assessments upon completion of four sessions and co-create treatment plans with caregivers for each client and/or family.
• Document therapeutic activities and submit timely billing summaries.

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field with a minimum of three years of treatment experience.
• Licensure in Missouri (dual licensure with Kansas preferred).
• Ability to provide supervision to students/fellows on site.
• Registered Play Therapist and Theraplay trained preferred.
• Bilingual preferred
