Travel Speech Language Pathologist – Thornton, Colorado Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for a 43‑week travel assignment in Thornton, Colorado. Start Date: 08/03/2026 Duration: 43 weeks Hours per Week: 36 hours Shift: 12‑hour nights Employment Type: Travel Required Qualifications Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology Experience in Speech Language Pathology; new graduates also encouraged to apply Additional certifications or licenses as required Summary of Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and evidence‑based practices. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers to improve communication outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies and safe swallowing practices. Coordinate with quality assurance initiatives and attend professional development activities. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Essential Work Functions Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Design personalized therapy programs based on patient goals and evidence‑based practices. Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and maintain detailed documentation. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home‑based exercises, and safe swallowing practices. Work with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Proficiency in PC skills and following written and verbal instructions. Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse personnel. Technical/motor skills for fine manipulation and equipment use. Mental endurance to cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines, and handle irregular schedules. Visual acuity and effective communication for sensory tasks.
