Therapist - Respiratory Therapist

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides advanced respiratory care to patients in a hospital setting, operating diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. This role requires flexibility to float across various hospital departments and deliver critical care services, primarily during night shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and interventions according to physician orders.
• Assess patients' respiratory status and adjust therapy plans accordingly.
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators, airway management devices, and other respiratory equipment.
• Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain compliance with all licensing, certification, and hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) license and provide proof of application or active status at start.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent critical care experience.
• Certified as an NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and all relevant certifications at start.
• Demonstrate ability to float within all hospital units, including labor and delivery, as required.
