Summary Description:

Straightens castings to meet product specifications.

Essential Functions:

• Using a variety of hammers and fixtures, hand straightens castings to meet blueprint specifications or to flatten, level or even up castings.
• In conjunction with the department’s leader develops and maintains written procedures, pictures of fixtures and steps straightening castings.
• Uses shop floor manager to job on and off shop orders and report accurate counts.
• Performs straightening check and inspection for castings that require it before shipment.
• Performs Straightening process at the T4 step for castings requiring heat treatment.
• Stacks castings going for T6 in a manner that will ensure castings conformity during heat treatment process.
• Reports any non-conforming product to the department’s Leader.
• Uses files to remove any excess material that would prevent a flat to table condition.
• Uses air tools to conduct any rework necessary for properly conducting straightening process.
• Maintains proper storage and care of straightening fixtures and tools.
• Reports any fixture to the leader that does not yield the desired casting conditions.
• Weight skids and labels boxes when performing a packing operation.
• Maintains area cleaned and free from any obstructions.
• Assist Department by performing castings inspections when necessary.
• Maintains proper counts for casting going back to heat treat for process completions.
• Maintains proper count of castings being pack for shipment.
• Carries out all duties & responsibilities in full accordance with the Company’s policies & procedures.
• Perform any and all other job-related tasks as assigned.

Skills or Experience Required:

High School degree or equivalent. Prior Experience helpful but not required.
