Registered Nurse PCU

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the PCU/Step Down unit will provide skilled nursing care across a variety of patient populations including ER boarded patients, telemetry, and medical-surgical cases. This float RN position requires flexibility to work in different units as needed, maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios and delivering high-quality care. The RN will also assume charge nurse responsibilities on select small units, managing staffing, bed flow, and coordination. Experience working in the US healthcare system and charge nurse experience are required. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license valid in the US state of practice.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a US acute care hospital setting.
• Charge nurse experience managing staffing and unit operations.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

• Experience working in progressive care units (PCU) or step-down units.
• Additional certifications relevant to telemetry or critical care nursing.
• Experience in charge nurse roles on small units or similar settings.

• Must have US clinical experience; Canadian experience alone is not sufficient.
• May be assigned charge nurse responsibilities on small units staffed by 1 2 RNs supported by LPNs and CNAs.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio varies by unit acuity.
• Float RN position requiring adaptability to multiple unit environments.

• Full-time, 48 hours per week.
• 12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
• Shift assignments based on institutional needs and unit staffing requirements.
