Position Summary


The Director of Laboratory is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the laboratory department to meet organizational goals. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement through strategic planning, staff management, and evidence-based practices.


Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement departmental strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.
• Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and high-quality patient care.
• Manage, mentor, and evaluate laboratory staff to foster professional growth and maintain engagement.
• Monitor departmental budgets, resource allocation, and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP).
• Integrate evidence-based practices and innovative approaches into laboratory operations.
• Collaborate with other departments to support organizational initiatives and patient-centered care.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
• Licensure/Certification: ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or AMT (American Medical Technologists) certification required.
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting.
