In the capacity of a Respiratory Therapist, you will be pivotal in assisting patients through both standard care and critical situations. Your responsibilities will include conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while overseeing both invasive and noninvasive ventilation in various healthcare environments. Your responsibilities will encompass:

• Evaluating respiratory conditions by conducting focused assessments, interpreting breath sounds and airway status, and identifying the need for respiratory interventions.
• Administering evidence-based therapies through oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments in emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Overseeing ventilation and airways by assisting with artificial airway placements, initiating and adjusting both invasive and noninvasive ventilation, monitoring patient responses, and swiftly addressing clinical changes or emergencies.
• Assisting patients and the healthcare team by educating patients and their families, serving as a clinical resource, collaborating with physicians and nurses, and aiding in the stabilization of newborns during deliveries when necessary.
• Ensuring equipment safety and maintenance by setting up, operating, and sanitizing respiratory equipment; guaranteeing readiness and preventive maintenance; safely transporting ventilated patients; and adhering to all infection control standards.

• (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist
• (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ACLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 6 months of starting employment
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or PALS Instructor certification must be obtained within 6 months of starting employment
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment
• Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree in a relevant field
