I'm looking for a new landscaping crew member, ideally someone who would like to step into a manager role after learning my systems (I'm open to short term fill in helpers until I find that person). We typically work 3 days a week in the field (this can increase for the right fit).

I mainly focus on sustainable landscape maintenance (weeding, pruning, leaf removal), mulching, planting, and some other larger projects. Starting pay is $20-$30 (depending on experience), and will go up once you have a sense of how things work/have demonstrated a certain level of proficiency. I will do a phone interview then a paid in-person tryout (generally 2 hours).

Qualities required for this position:

• Have a strong desire to work outside and learn about plants/landscaping (prior knowledge/experience is strongly preferred)
• Have your own reliable transportation (not bus or bike)
• Be able to lift 50+lbs
• Keep a steady pace throughout the day (it can be challenging physical work, and we move quickly)
• Be extremely detail oriented and have a good handle on the big picture of the job/day
• Be able to work in hot and cold weather
• Be punctual
• Be flexible and adaptable since sometimes plans can change quickly depending on the job/day/weather
• Follow instructions/direction and ask clarifying/process questions
• Have a good attitude/good communication/self awareness

Logistics:

• Typically 3 days a week (usually Tues, Wed, Thurs). June and July start to slow down to 2 days @6hr. We're typically off all of August, but work will be available for the right person.
• I'm looking for long-term help (min 1 year, ideally longer and working towards a manager role).
• This is a 1099 position
• You must bring your own lunch.
• Most days are a full 8 hours, though sometimes we end early/need to stay a little later to finish up with a job.
• Most days aren't all day back breaking labor (lots of monotonous weeding!), but there are some more physically demanding days (moving rocks/mulch/digging). If you have any prior injuries that you're concerned about, this may not be the job for you.
