The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. The Patient Access Representative plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression for our patients by delivering compassionate, patient- centered service. This position is responsible for accurately registering patients, verifying insurance, obtaining required documentation, collecting applicable payments and ensuring a seamless registration experience. The representative serves as the first point of contact for patients and families, providing exceptional customer service during stressful and urgent situations. As a Patient Access Representative, a typical day might include: * Responsible for coordinating and facilitating registration and admissions by obtaining pertinent demographic information, collecting accurate insurance information authorizations to financially clear outpatient hospital accounts * The ideal candidate must be detail oriented and promote patient satisfaction * Service orientated background, good written and verbal communication skills and accurate typing ability * Demonstrates initiative and motivation in role; proactively identifies and resolves problems in an appropriate manner and escalates issues to leadership when necessary * Reflects commitment to building a supportive work environment and maintains a positive attitude * Works closely and professionally with nursing and ancillary departments to foster a team environment * Participate in training through the development of training tools, presentations at department in-services or staff meetings, or through the training of registration staff outside the patient access department This role might be for you if: * You thrive in a fast-paced environment. * You are good at multitasking and customer service. * You have experience working within healthcare or other related areas which are customer service focused.
