We're looking for a CNC Set-Up Technician who shares these values and is ready to contribute to a high-performance team focused on continuous improvement and cutting-edge manufacturing solutions.Position OverviewThe CNC Set-Up Technician must be able to troubleshoot and repair technical issues and problems with all CNC equipment. This role requires the ability to create, manage, optimize, and maintain CNC program files in G-code and Mazatrol software for mills and lathes. The CNC Set-Up Technician works closely with Manufacturing Engineering and is involved in prototype part machining and creation. Key Position Responsibilities:Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part program.Set-Up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three-and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming headsMeasure and evaluate parts using precision measuring devices including calipers, micrometers and gaugesVerify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standardsRead and follow blueprints, sketches, diagramsMaintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn toolsMaintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairsMaintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, rules, and regulations.Demonstrated experience with G-Code programming, MasterCam a plusKey Position Requirements:Experience with Haas, Okuma and/or Mazak preferredMinimum of 2-3 years of experience programming, set-up and operating CNC Mills and/or CNC LathesMust be able to stand up to 8 hours a day, liftManufacturing using Lean methodology experience preferredPhysical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job include standing, lifting 40 pounds, bending, pushing, and walking.
