RESPIRATORY THERAPIST

Pine St Newport, WA 99156, USA Description Primary Scheduled Hours: Nights, 12-hour shifts Pay Scale: Compensation within the posted range will be determined based on relevant experience and internal equity considerations. Job Summary: Provides respiratory assessment, support, treatment or diagnostic test for acute care, emergency room or outpatient as needed. Essential Job Functions: Provide emergency care, such as artificial respiration, or assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Monitor patient’s physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, or blood chemistry changes, and consult with physician if adverse reactions occur. Obtains ABGs, EKGs and other testing as appropriate. Set up and operate devices, such as, high flow oxygen, Bipap, mechanical ventilators, environmental control systems, or aerosol generators, following specified parameters of treatment. Support clinical team regarding area of expertise through training or instruction. Work as part of a team of physicians, nurses, or other healthcare professionals to manage patient care by assisting with medical procedures or related duties. Maintain confidentiality of patients’ pertinent identification and therapy information. Documenting, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form to maintain patient records. Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients. Sets up, operates, and monitors non-invasive and invasive ventilators and the associated critical care duties required for such treatment, such as airway management and tracheal suctioning. Inspecting respiratory equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. Performs pulmonary function studies and outpatient test as appropriate per provider orders. Lift, position move and transport patients via wheelchair and/or stretcher as needed. Identifies learning needs of a patient and evaluates effectiveness of learning, including patients' family as appropriate. Treats patients and their families with dignity and respect. Education Background and Experience Requirements Associate degree required from an Accredited Respiratory Care Program Required Licensure / Certification Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred and credential (NBRC) to be kept up to date, Respiratory Therapist WA license, BLS, ACLS/PALS/NRP within 90 days Required Experience (Attested) Critical Care Experience Preferred Qualifications Professional Requirements: Adheres to dress code and wears identification while on duty. Completes required annual education and maintains regulatory and CQI participation requirements. Reports to work as scheduled and completes assignments within designated time. Maintains patient and employee confidentiality. Communicates with patients, families, and staff in a courteous and respectful manner, consistent with NHHS mission and Scope of Service. Maintains a clean, safe, and accident-free environment. Attends staff meetings monthly and/or reads and returns all meeting minutes (as per department / contract standards). Compensation/How We Care For You: Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation in increments increases annually.
