Position Summary

Under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Autism provides direct implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) goals for individuals with disabilities, primarily autism. Ensures supports provided meet organizational guidelines, funder requirements and accreditation standards.

Essential Functions

• Provides ABA therapy through reviewing individuals' goals with BCBA and implementing individualized supports to achieve goals.
• Communicates with team members regarding supports provided and regularly updates BCBA on individuals' progress towards goals.
• Completes documentation and ensures compliance with organizational, funder and accreditation requirements.
• May provide additional supports as needed, including respite and social skills group sessions.

Position Competencies

• Knowledge of disabilities, including autism and strategies to support individuals.
• Able to implement ABA goals and follow through with appropriate supports.
• Strong communication skills to be able to foster positive professional relationships with individuals, families and team members.
• Basic computer skills for utilizing a variety of computer systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Active RBT certification or willingness to complete the certification process.
• Annual RBT certification renewal is required.
• Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism, and their families preferred.
