About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 Year License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic charting preferred Description: Responsible for providing care to adult and geriatric patients in an acute medical and telemetry setting. Work shifts are scheduled from 19:00 to 07:30, three days a week. Position requires availability on weekdays and weekends. Candidates must have experience with handling telemetry patients. Experience in EKG rhythm identification and managing non-titrating cardiac drips is essential. Knowledge of advanced medication infusion without titration is required. Acutely ill patients, including those with general medicine, surgical, or infectious disease diagnoses, will be treated. Candidates will conduct pre- and post-procedure evaluations and care. Nursing responsibilities include caring for patients with acute ischemic stroke and transient ischemic attacks. Telemetry monitoring for non-acute cardiac conditions is included in the patient population. All travelers are expected to float within service lines. Familiarity with Epic charting is preferred. Compliance with safety standards and infection control protocols is mandatory. Certain medical conditions such as active gastrointestinal bleeding or uncontrolled ischemic chest pain are not accepted within this unit. Experience with managing dysrhythmias and performing neurological assessments is needed.
