Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position in Alexandria, LA, requiring AHA-issued BLS and ACLS certifications and experience with cardiac procedures including TAVR and device implantation.

Details

• Day shift position, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• 13-week contract with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position
• Cardiology Cath Lab setting within a hospital environment
• Patient population includes cardiac catheterizations, peripheral vascular procedures, TAVR, and device implantations
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1 patient to 4 staff members (2 nurses and 2 techs)
• Every third or fourth weekend required
• On-call required, scheduled in collaboration with other staff members

Requirements

• Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact state currently in hand
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Current ACLS certification from the AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab or related nursing specialty experience
• SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Educates patients, family members, and caregivers and identifies appropriate resources
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member, with competency validation completed during onboarding
• All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• Scrub color: Galaxy blue
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• 2 professional references required for consideration
