Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring 2+ years of IR experience with neuro/stroke procedures and coiling expertise.

Details

• Work in the Interventional Radiology unit of a tertiary care hospital
• Target workload of 16 cases per day across three IR rooms with pre and post coverage in the Radiology Pre Post Unit as needed
• Day shift schedule: 4x10 hours, Monday through Friday, 7:00am-5:30pm
• 40 hours per week can be offered
• Call requirement includes being at the hospital within 30 minutes; primary and backup call rotation totaling approximately 8 call days within a 10-12 week period
• Weekday call runs from end of shift until 0700; weekend call is 24-hour coverage Saturday and Sunday 0700-0700
• May be required to work on-call for one holiday (primary or backup)
• Weekend work required based on call rotation
• No floating required
• Uses Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR systems

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license (pending acceptable at submission)
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (PALS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of IR experience required
• Required experience in neuro/stroke procedures and coiling
• Skills in conscious sedation, telemetry, and IR procedures including stroke management
• Understanding of IR procedures and workflow
• Preferred skills: circulating and ventilator management experience
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring skills
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in interventional radiology procedures including neuro/stroke and coiling cases
• Participate in call rotation covering emergencies and end-of-day case wrap-up
• Facility-provided scrubs (ceil blue)
• 8-hour hospital orientation during week one; must be available for daily classes
• Manager-based scheduling
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees (perm/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying, with facility approval required
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday; no RTO permitted during first week of assignment
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Travel pairs allowed if on different units with separate schedules and own transportation
• 13-week minimum contract length, with longer contracts welcomed
