Shipping/Receiving Clerk
Mon-Thurs (some Fridays) 6am-4pm $16-18 D.O.E
GENERAL STATEMENTS OF DUTIES:
- Verifies and processes incoming and outgoing shipments, maintains shipment records, and prepares items for shipment.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming shipments to verify accuracy against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Processes all shipments through ERP and TMS systems and ensures transaction accuracy.
- Maintains inventory levels of shipping materials and supplies.
- Supervises dock personnel to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Operates lift trucks and hand trucks to move, convey, or hoist shipments between shipping/receiving platforms, storage areas, and work areas.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in LTL and TL shipping/receiving processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in the use of a personal computer and related software systems.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and documents, including recognition of similarities and differences between words and numerical sequences.
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences clearly.
- Ability to add and subtract four-digit numbers and multiply and divide using units of 100 and 1,000.
- Ability to perform calculations involving American currency, weight, volume, and distance measurements.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Two years minimum in shipping and receiving processing. SAP/ERP knowledge is a plus.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $16.00 - $18.00
